Louisa Lytton

Louisa Lytton Biography

Louisa Claire Lytton (born 7 February 1989) is an English actress from Camden, London. She is known for playing Ruby Allen, in the BBC One soap opera EastEnders.

Career

Lytton attended the Sylvia Young Theatre School and prior to EastEnders had played characters in Ali G Indahouse, The Bill and French & Saunders. She was also Emma Watson's double in the film Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

EastEnders

Lytton made her first appearance in EastEnders on 18 March 2005.

Weeks after winning the "Sexiest Female" award at the British Soap Awards in May 2006 it was reported that Lytton would be leaving EastEnders in November 2006. On the exit of her character, Lytton had commented: "I've really enjoyed my time at EastEnders. It has been a great experience which I will never forget but I am now looking forward to trying new things."

Lytton's final scenes were indeed broadcast in November 2006. On 1 December 2006 Lytton appeared the ITV show Loose Women and confirmed that leaving EastEnders was not her decision, indicating that she would have liked to have carried on in the role, but the show's producers had decided not to renew her contract. She also stated that her final scenes were originally much longer with more impact, but for reasons unknown to her, they were heavily cut, resulting in a far less dramatic ending than the actress would have hoped for.

Lytton remains freinds with her EastEnders costar Lacey Turner.

Strictly Come Dancing

In Autumn 2006 Lytton took part in the fourth series of the BBC One reality television programme Strictly Come Dancing, and was the youngest contestant ever to appear on the show. After several impressive performances she was eliminated in the quarter-finals, finishing in fourth place out of fourteen, losing out to Emma Bunton in a "dance-off" for a place in the last three. Surrey cricketer Mark Ramprakash ended up winning the show. However, Lytton appeared in the Christmas special on Christmas Day with fellow contestants Mark Ramprakash, Matt Dawson and Emma Bunton, along with 2005's semi finalists Zoë Ball and Colin Jackson. This show was won by Jackson.

The Bill

In May 2007 Lytton will join the cast of the ITV series The Bill playing rookie cop PC Beth Green, a series regular.
