Production

Development

In January 2020, it was announced that Amazon had greenlit the series as part of Plan B Entertainment's newly-signed overall deal. Brian Watkins was attached to create the series as well as executive produce alongside Zev Borow and Heather Rae.

Casting

It was announced in February 2020 that Josh Brolin was set to star in the series. In October, Lili Taylor, Tamara Podemski and Tom Pelphrey were cast. Imogen Poots, Lewis Pullman, Noah Reid, Shaun Sipos, and Isabel Arraiza were added in December. Olive Abercrombie joined as a series regular in February 2021, with Will Patton, Matthew Maher and MorningStar Angeline cast in recurring roles.

Filming

Filming on the series began on January 11, 2021, and is expected to conclude on June 24. It is set to film between Calgary, Los Angeles, Albuquerque, and Las Vegas. Filming paused for two weeks in late January after a positive COVID-19 test was confirmed.
