Scott Innes Biography

Scott Innes (born October 1, 1966) is an American author, songwriter, voice actor, and radio personality.

He became known as the new official voice of Scooby-Doo in the Scooby-Doo direct-to-video movies made between 1998 and 2001. From 1999 to 2001, he was also the official voice of Scooby's best friend and owner Norville "Shaggy" Rogers. His role was succeeded by Frank Welker (the voice of Fred Jones) in 2002; at the same time, Casey Kasem re-assumed the role of Shaggy, though Innes still provided the voices in video games and commercials. He also voiced Scrappy-Doo in the live action movie Scooby-Doo. He voiced Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble in a Toshiba commercial from 2002, and even voiced Astro from the Jetsons in a 2003 series of Radio Shack commercials. Innes auditioned to replace the retired Casey Kasem to return as Shaggy for the new TV series Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated, but he lost the role to Matthew Lillard.

Since 1997 Innes has voiced over 25 of the most famous Hanna Barbera Cartoon Characters of All-Times. Such as Fred Flintstone, Barney Rubble, Snaggle puss,Quick Draw McGraw, Bandit the Dog, Wally Gator,Papa Smurf, Astro, Popeye . He has voiced over 1,000 talking toys & video games. And helped create the popular local Baton Rouge tv characters "Hollywood Hal & Rhinestone Al" with his partner Jim Hogg.

He wrote the song "Handprints on the Wall" which was recorded by Kenny Rogers. The song went on to place in the Top 40. He has also written songs for T-Graham Brown, Sammy Kershaw, Hunter Hayes & Other Big name Nashville singers. Scott is also credited as one of the Radio personalities that helped launch Country Superstar Hunter Hayes music career .

In-between his voice acting duties, Innes was the afternoon air personality at Country outlet WYNK-FM/Baton Rouge, Louisiana.from 1997- 2011. Where he won the highest award in radio broadcasting (The MARCONI ) Scott also won Radio personality of the year from the CMA (Country Music Association) in 1997 ,ACM (American Country Music Association in 2008 , and the Golden Mike award from the LAB (Louisiana Association of Broadcasters ) in 1998 & 2000 , In 2008 He was also honored with a Life Time Achievement Award from the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters. Innes has won & been nominated so many times for these type of awards that one radio Consultant said Innes was won of the most awarded Radio personalities in Country Music. After 32 years on the radio Innes retired to become the publisher/owner of his own Magazine in the Livingston Louisiana area, called Hug Magazine a fun family entertainment type magazine named after his radio catch phrase "Hug the babies when you get home"
