The Double is an upcoming comedy film directed by Richard Ayoade and starring Jesse Eisenberg and Mia Wasikowska. The film is based on the novella The Double by Fyodor Dostoyevsky, about a man who goes mad after finding out his life has been usurped by a doppelgänger.

Plot

A man is driven insane by the sight of his doppelgänger.

Production

In February 2012, it was reported that Richard Ayoade would direct a new comedy, The Double, starring Jesse Eisenberg and Mia Wasikowska, in the United Kingdom. Principal photography began on 20 May 2012 in London and has since finished.

Release

The film will premiere at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival in September.
