Wayward Pines is an upcoming American television series based on the novel Pines by Blake Crouch.

The series stars Matt Dillon as a U.S. Secret Service agent investigating the disappearance of two federal agents in a mysterious small Idaho town. Developed by Chad Hodge, it will be broadcast as midseason replacement, "event series" by Fox in 2015.

Development

Wayward Pines is executive produced by Hodge along with M. Night Shyamalan, Donald De Line, and Ashwin Rajan. The pilot episode was written by Hodge and directed by Shyamalan.

Officially picked up in May 2013 with a 10-episode order, on May 12, 2014, Fox announced that the show will premiere in 2015 as mid-season replacement. Filming took place between August 2013 and February 2014 in Burnaby (interiors) and Agassiz (exteriors), in British Columbia.

International broadcast

The series has been picked up for broadcast in the UK by FOX UK.
