America's Best Dance Crew 1 (Courtesy Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

America's Best Dance Crew is an American television show featuring street dance crews from the United States. The season one premiered on MTV in the United States and MuchMusic in Canada on February 7, 2008. In the first season, it was hosted by Mario Lopez and featured Layla Kayleigh as the backstage correspondent and was judged by rapper Lil Mama, former *NSYNC singer JC Chasez, and hip-hop choreographer Shane Sparks. JabbaWockeeZ was declared the winner of season 1 on the March 27, 2008 season finale and received the $100,000 (USD) prize.

Auditions

America's Best Dance Crew features dance crews from all over the United States and in the first season, these dance crews auditioned in four cities: New York City, Atlanta, Chicago, and Los Angeles. A total of twelve dance crews were chosen from the four cities and were then broken up into four regions: East Coast, Midwest, South, and West Coast.

Each crew must perform to a popular dance, also known as a "dance craze", while showing their style. However, since some of the dances are very simple, there were certain challenges each team had to do while performing.

Week 8

Aired on March 27, 2008.

Season Finale and the results show, announcing the winner of America's Best Dance Crew. All the crews came back and worked on a dance with other crews in their respective divisions (West, Midwest, South, East). The songs the crews performed to were also subject to represent the area they came from, the West and E-40 (Bay Area), South and Lil Jon & The Eastside Boys (Atlanta), East and LL Cool J (Queens, NY), and the Midwest with Huey (St. Louis). JabbaWockeeZ was announced as the winner of season 1 of America's Best Dance Crew.
