  George Huff becomes the eighth 'American Idol' finalist to be eliminated

  
  American Idol got into the swing of things Tuesday night, as the remaining five finalists performed songs from the Big Band Era. During last night's live results show, it was announced that George Huff was eliminated from the American Idol competition after receiving the fewest votes. On Tuesday night, Huff sang "What A Wonderful World" and "Cheek To Cheek." The eighth finalist to be eliminated from the competition, Huff will return to his hometown of New Orleans, LA. Only four finalists remain, one of whom will be the next American Idol!

  John Stevens becomes the seventh 'American Idol' finalist to be eliminated

  
  American Idol grooved to a Latin beat on Tuesday night, as the remaining six finalists performed songs previously recorded by Gloria Estefan, backed live by her band, the Miami Sound Machine. Estefan joined the judges Tuesday in critiquing the performances. Then, during last night's live results show, it was announced that John Stevens, who sang "Music of My Heart" on Tuesday, was eliminated from the American Idol competition.

  American Idol was hotter than the Copa on Tuesday night, as the remaining seven finalists performed songs from the Barry Manilow catalogue. Manilow joined the judges Tuesday in critiquing the performances, and last night he performed with the finalists. Then, during a shocking Wednesday live results show, it was announced that Jennifer Hudson, who was considered one of the favorites to win this season's contest, had been eliminated from the American Idol competition after receiving the fewest votes.

Now America will get to hear them via something other than their televisions when the twelve release a new compilation album of the greatest soul classics of all time on April 27.

The finalists received a surprise visit from pop icon Sir Elton John as they prepared for this week's competition. During last night's live results show, it was announced that Camile Velasco was eliminated from the American Idol competition after receiving the fewest votes.
