Charlie Herschel, a 29-year-old lawyer from New York, NY, had no idea he was going home. After making it through the first eight episodes of Survivor: Gabon with only brief moments of drama as a member of the season's previously dominant "onion alliance," Charlie thought he was in pretty good shape heading into the competition's stretch run.

Only days after the elimination of his closest ally by a blindside vote, Charlie Herschel, a 29-year-old lawyer from New York, NY, fell victim to the same fate and became the tenth castaway eliminated from Survivor: Gabon during last night's broadcast on CBS.
"This is a disaster. I 100% did not see this coming, but what can you do at this point," Charlie said following his elimination. "I didn't think [I would] make it past the first [Tribal Council], so to make it this far is amazing. If I'm gonna leave Survivor I'm glad it was a blindside. I'm thankful [Marcus Lehman] is in the jury though, that is my saving grace."

All that Marcus Lehman, a 28-year-old doctor from Atlanta, GA, needed was the merge. After coasting through the first seven episodes of Survivor: Gabon in the dominant Kota tribe, Lehman had secured enough allies to make it far into the competition with little resistance.

Marcus Lehman, a 28-year-old doctor from Atlanta, GA, thought he had numbers on his side with his powerful Kota tribe's members as his allies. However, a second tribal shakeup coupled with a weak ally proved to be too much for Marcus to overcome and caused his to become the ninth castaway to be eliminated from Survivor: Gabon -- and its first jury member -- during last night's broadcast on CBS.
