    WCAX Channel 3 News is reporting that it has learned that a Burlington, Vermont woman is a contestant in Survivor 4.

    Several sources have told Channel 3 News that real estate agent Kathy O'Brien is a contestant. Both O"Brien and CBS have refused to confirm or deny her participation in the show -- but sources have told WCAX that O'Brien was gone for several weeks -- and just returned to work.

  • CBS Announces 'Survivor 4' To Premiere February 28th

    CBS announced today that in five weeks, "Survivor: Marquesas" will premiere on Thursday, Feb. 28, the night after the Grammy awards. President of CBS, Les Moonves, promises that Burnett is "full of surprises" and the Marquesas version will be no different.

    Marquesas is a South Pacific island of Nuku Hiva, located in the same general area as Tahiti.

  • Burnett Arrives In Nuku Hiva, Survivor 4 Begins Filming Monday, November 12th"

    The Tahiti Press is reporting that the filming of Survivor 4 begins today, Monday, November 12th. The castaways have already been on the island of Nuku Hiva getting their survival training. A no-fly zone has been put in place for the valleys used for production.

    Production was previously believed to be starting Thursday, November 8th, however it turned out Mark Burnett only ARRIVED in Nuku Hiva on Thursday, November 8th.

    CBS today confirmed what many fans had already known for weeks -- that Survivor producers have opted for the quaint jungles of the Marquesas Islands (pronounced "mar-kay-sis") in French Polynesia. Specifically, a little chunk of South Pacific real estate known as Nuku Hiva (pronounced "nu-ku heeva").

    They reported that original plans to film in Jordan were changed, due to the current state of affairs in the world.

    SURVIVOR 4 FINDS A HOME: With Survivor 3 in the can, producer Mark Burnett has apparently found a location for Survivor 4. USA Today reports that the next installment of CBS's hit reality franchise will be set somewhere in the arid desert boondocks of Jordan. A CBS rep wouldn't confirm or deny that Survivor 4 — which will debut in March 2002 — is Middle East-bound. In the meantime, Survivor 3 premieres Oct. 11.
