TV Guide Online reports that CBS chairman and CEO Les Moonves expressed doubt as to whether a fifth edition of the network's Emmy-nominated The Amazing Race series would be produced, due to the show's continuing low ratings. Over the summer, CBS gave the show the prized Thursday at 8 PM time slot -- the slot occupied by Survivor during the regular season and previously reserved for Big Brother during the summer. Nevertheless, ratings for The Amazing Race remain anemic.

According to final National Nielsen ratings for July 10, the sixth episode of CBS' "The Amazing Race 4" scored a 5.2 rating/10 share and drew 8.05 million overall viewers to finish second in it's timeslot to a repeat of NBC's "Friends" (5.8/11.)
