Wickedly Perfect - Episode 1 Summary

'Apples, Apples Everywhere, But Not A Bite To Eat' By buckeyegirl
Original Airdate: January 6, 2005

We begin episode one with a stunning view of the scenery and a mansion that would make the contestants on the Bachelor green with envy. Limos arrive and the contestants are told to sit down at the tables in the field...at first glance it looks like they might get to have a nice glass of wine or lunch to get to know each better, then the camera shoots over toward the apple trees and my mind has been conditioned by Mark Burnett, and I sense a challenge coming. Whatever could the challenge be? I'm guessing it's something with Apples! Joan Lunden, who is beginning to annoy me more the Julie Chinn ever did, announces that the two tables are now teams and they have to compete against each other, and whoever collects the most apples wins. I'm supressing a yawn when people begin tripping, shoving and falling all over each other to get the most apples. Reality tv at it's best. Who knew apple picking could be so entertaining?

One team was smart enough to use the table cloths on the table to collect apples and (shocker) ended up winning this competition....they came up with the sickening sweet name of Crafty BeaversRaise your hand if you wanted to throw up when you heard that name? Then the loser team, um, I mean the Artisans gave Joan their name, and she then went on to name what the individual winner of the show would win, but all I heard was "yadda, yadda, yadda, book deal, yadda yadda, tv show, yadda, CBS Early show appearances...."

The teams have 32 hours to create a masterpiece out of the apples they collected, and as a twist have to do an individual project and the 2 people with the worst projects will be put up for elimination, and then the team members will have to decide who will leave the island, I mean mansion....

The Crafty Beavers consist of:

Denise, a home maker from LA. The only thing I remembered about her is that she chewed a guy out for not letting her glue on leaves to something.

Mitch-Product designer from Chicago. Yelled at everyone a lot...

Mychael, Gourmet Chef, San Fransico She's pretty much responible for her team winning the food part of the competition

Heather-she's from LA, and a business owner, and for the life of me I can't remember anything else she did memorable on the show

Tim, a carpenter from Florida--His most memorable moment was when Mitch said "if he's a finish carpenter then I'm a gourmet chef" or something along those lines...

Team Artisan: I'd show their pictures, here, but really I'm not going to bother because in another 2 weeks none of them will be left, expect possibly for Darlene who is quite possibly the most annoying female to ever be on Reality TV. I still can't believe the women is on HSN.

Anyway, by now you are probably wondering who won the competition...the Crafty Beavers created this:

while the Artisians created this:

Here's what I learned from the judges on this episode: Never ever, ever use silk flowers when real are available. The Crafty Beavers won, and sent the Artisians to tribal council, I mean the Elimination ceremony....
where the women formed an alliance and voted off TOM!!:

~My apologies for not getting this up sooner. I've had major computer problems and haven't been online much and didn't know I had the first episode. Thanks to Volsfan for letting me know I had it!!
