'I'm Fabulous But Need Direction' By Belinda Trotter-James

Can you guess who has the most excuses when it comes to the challenges… Yup, Jade is the winner!  Throughout the show she will tell you how fabulous she is and why she should be the winner.  However, talk is cheap, Jade.  The viewing audience has not seen her step up to the plate consistently.  To make matters worse, she has now added relationship adviser to her modeling credentials.  We'll talk more about Jade’s many excuses later, but now let’s talk about her new job as Nnenna’s love relationship adviser.

As you know Nnenna has a needy boyfriend, John.  Just listen to his telephone conversation with Nnenna… “Whhhhyyyyyy can’t you love meeeeeeeee.  You're ripping my heart out.”  Is this pathetic or what!  He continues, “Hooooow do you think I feel every night without you?  I know, I know something is happening.”  Good Grief, how did a  strong, intelligent, future chemist such as  Nnenna get hooked up with a  pathetic excuse for a boy.  Where is his mama because Nnenna is not it!  Throughout the entire show  Nnenna is on the telephone trying to convince her boyfriend that she is being true to him and that no cheating is going on.  As Nnenna tries to console him, Jade passes her notes on what to say to John. Sounds like John needs a hobby or some friends.  Nnenna knows this is a once in a lifetime shot and if John cannot support the present, there is no future for the relationship.

For the next challenge instead of Tyra telling the girls what to do, she shows them by pretending she is not feeling well and then faints.  The girls are shocked and frightened as they try to revive her and get help.  Then all of a sudden Tyra gets up with a big smile on her face and starts to laugh. She reveals to the girls that what just  happened  is called an improve.  She explained that the girls must commit to a scene and give it their all so that it is believable to everyone.  Tyra did such a good job that Furonda was still a little shaken up and started to cry at the thought of Tyra lying on the floor.  Tyra told the girls to go and meet their improve coach and make her proud.

After the improve class, the girls were able to put their skills to the test by doing a little improve with Nick Cannon, executive producer of the Wildin’ Out  television show.  The girls were a little shy and uncomfortable but tried their best.  In one game Jade was told to ask the other girl a question on a particular subject and Jade could not do it.  When she lost twice she said, “I needed more direction.”  No Jade, you needed to listen and follow directions.  Why would Miss  Jade, the supermodel that has been undiscovered by the modeling industry need directions?  She already knows every thing because she tells us constantly.  The winner of the improve was Furonda who won a role on the hit television show, Veronica Mars.  She also won a spot for a Public Service Announcement for HIV awareness and was allowed to select a friend to help her.  When Jade volunteer to do the spot, Furonda chose Nnenna.  Furonda confided in the camera that Jade was not her friend and would not have chosen her to share the prize.

Lucky for the girls who did badly with the improve to have a second chance.  The next challenge was to do a commercial for Cover Girl Cosmetics. The girls would have  two chances to get it right and say at the end, “Easy Breezy Beautiful Cover Girl.  Can you say that tongue twister three times in a row?  Can you say it at least once…. nope…not our girls.  Read on…

Mollie could not think of what to say on the spot and she just had an improve class.  Furonda was feeling good after winning the improve challenge and taping an episode of Veronica Mars.  Her commercial was bubbly and over the top.  It was not great but she did her thang.  Brooke was awful, Danielle could not focus and held the product incorrectly.  Jade was very confident that she would nail the commercial because she is an experienced undiscovered supermodel.  Well, Miss Jade came walking through the party as if it was a runway show.  She did a twist, turned and waved her hand as if she was a beauty pageant winner.  When she had to speak about the product, she did not know what to say and blew it completely.  Then she had the nerve to say, “I needed just a little bit more direction.”  Does Mr. Jay look like a crutch to you?  Aren't you the undiscovered supermodel that already knows everything?  Jade’s problem is that she thinks she knows so much that she cannot hear anyone’s direction.  Jade cannot believe she is competing against younger girls who know nothing about modeling.  As you can see, Jade knows nothing about modeling either.

As the judges looked at the girls commercials, no one really stood out.  They felt Sara has no presence, Danielle’s accent sounds funny, Furonda was too animated, Brooke was a babbling brook, Nnenna was not nice to her guests in the commercial, Mollie Sue has no passion or feeling, Leslie looks great in commercials, not in print, Joanie lost her sophistication and Jade looked very draggish with all that twisting and turning.

Ultimately, the bottom two were Jade and Mollie Sue.  The judges felt Jade plays the blame game and they don’t like her attitude.  Both of her commercial takes were bad. “Jade, you don’t know it all.  That is why you are here,” says Tyra  The judges felt that Mollie is too robotic for this industry therefore, Mollie Sue was sent home.   Mollie was very upset and could not believe she went home before Jade.  Now there are eight contestants.  Who will be kicked off next?  See you next week.
