Idol's Top 2 seventh-season finalists will take the stage and perform during a live one-hour broadcast on Tuesday, May 20 at 8PM ET/PT.  The following night beginning at 8PM ET/PT, Idol's seventh-season champ will be revealed at the conclusion of a live two-hour broadcast -- which will no doubt feature tons of filler.

In addition, Idol's finale has relocated from the Kodak Theater -- the site of the first six Idol finales -- to the Nokia Theatre, which is at the center of Los Angeles' L.A. Live -- a new four million square-foot complex that opened last October.  The Nokia Theatre features a studio audience seating capacity of 7,000 while the Kodak Theater could only seat 3,400 people.

During last May's live finale broadcast, an average of 30.7 million total viewers watched Jordin Sparks become Idol's sixth-season champ based on "a new world record of 74 million" home viewer votes.
