90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days star Timothy Malcolm is defending his choice to give Jeniffer Tarazona a ring he had previously given to his ex, Veronica, as an engagement ring.

Jeniffer was thrilled about the gesture until she discovered the ring had once belonged to Veronica, who gave Timothy the ring back prior to his trip to Colombia so he could make better use of it.
Veronica seemed to have good intentions by giving the ring back, but Jeniffer was furious the ring had not been purchased with her in mind.
When asked whether he regrets giving Jeniffer that ring, Tim told Entertainment Tonight, "Well, there's a lot of backstory on that ring."
"[There's] a lot more to do with it [than] just what the viewers saw," Tim elaborated during the interview.
"Obviously I was running out of time. [Veronica] gave me that ring at my going-away party, I was leaving in like 24-48 hours later, so obviously if I had more time maybe I would've went and traded it in or got a different ring. But it's what I had to work with."
Tim concluded, "At the end of the day, I gave it to [Jeniffer] as a promise ring so at least I can get her a different engagement ring if that's the path we end up taking, and then it's good to go."
Jeniffer had to come to grips with the fact Timothy wanted to remain friends with Veronica and co-parent her daughter Chloe. Timothy was hoping Jeniffer and Veronica would become friends or that Jeniffer would at least approve of Veronica being in their lives.

"If you date somebody, you don't have to hate them when you're done," Timothy told ET, noting he had dated Veronica for nine years before the pair determined the romance wasn't working out.
"You can wish each other well and just realize, 'It didn't work out,' and just be nice to each other. Date -- don't hate!"

When Timothy gave Jeniffer the ring, he said, "I think our relationship is very beautiful and we have a very unique story. The entire time I was here, I thought about the bads and I thought about the goods, and what I do know is that I really love you, and I brought you a ring."
Jeniffer immediately hugged Timothy and seemed happy and surprised, but then Timothy noted, "But I want to give it to you as a promise ring."
Jeniffer was surprised to hear the ring was not an engagement ring, but Timothy explained he wanted to continue working on their relationship. Timothy said he wanted to be smart about things.
Jeniffer, however, actually thought it was a good decision because they needed to learn more about each other and grow in love. She apparently didn't feel ready for an engagement either, especially because they had yet to have sex.

But Timothy promised that problem would be solved before he left Colombia.
When the pair enjoyed a spa day later on, Jeniffer was feeling positive and optimistic about her relationship -- until she asked Timothy where he had bought her beautiful ring.

"You're giving me a ring of your ex?!" Jeniffer asked.
Jeniffer felt sad, disappointed and angry, and she told the cameras the ring lost all meaning for her in that moment. Jeniffer called the ring "trash" and took it off.
"She didn't want it, now you're giving me it. I don't want it. I'm really pissed," Jeniffer vented.
Jeniffer said the ring was not purchased for her and so it meant nothing to her. Timothy admitted he had messed up and the ring had done some damage to his relationship.
90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days' third-season finale will air Sunday, October 27 at 8PM ET/PT on TLC and immediately be followed by Part 1 of the season's Tell-All reunion special on 9PM ET/PT.
Part 2 of the Tell-All will then air as a super-sized three-hour episode on Monday, October 28 at 8PM ET/PT.
