Alek Skarlatos' friend and fellow train hero Spencer Stone has been stabbed.

"Everybody send prayers out to the stone family today," Skarlatos, who is currently paired with Lindsay Arnold on Dancing with the Stars' 21st season, tweeted Thursday, the Air Force Times reported, citing Air Force officials.

Stone, who was one of two other men to help Skarlatos prevent a terrorist attack on a Paris-bound train in Belgium in August, was stabbed four times in the chest in Sacramento early Thursday morning.

The incident is the second additional hardship Skarlatos has faced since the train attack, following last week's Oregon shooting in which ten people were killed at the community college he attends.

"[Airman 1st Class] Spencer Stone has been transported to a local hospital, and is currently being treated for injury," Air Force spokesman Lt. Col. Christopher Karns told the Air Force Times. "The incident is currently under investigation by local law enforcement. He is currently in stable condition."

The stabbing occurred around 12:46AM in an area of downtown Sacramento with multiple nightclubs in close proximity, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Sacramento police officer Traci Trapani told the LA Times the victim left a business and then had an argument with an "unknown suspect," who stabbed him with a knife multiple times with "no motive."

"It appears to be a random deal," Trapani said, adding that alcohol was a factor in the dispute.

Authorities reportedly did not think Stone, 23, would survive the trauma at first, as he was found in critical condition. Sacramento police are still declining to disclose Stone as the stabbing victim. They've been referring to him as "a man in his 20s."

Anthony Sadler was the third friend who tackled the assailant with a gun on their train this summer. Stone reportedly put the man in a chokehold and then Skarlatos ripped the gun out of his hand.
