Ashley Doherty and David Norton appeared on Season 3 of Married at First Sight.
Despite David's persistence to make the marriage work, Ashley wanted to part ways by the end of the experiment.
Ashley and David got a divorce, but David went on to star on Married at First Sight: Second Chances along with his season's co-star Vanessa Nelson.
David did not find lasting love on the spinoff, and his sincerity was questioned by the cast of women.
In April 2020, Lifetime aired a Married at First Sight: Where Are They Now? special that provided updates on some of MAFS's former participants.
In his Where Are They Now? update video, David confirmed he was currently dating someone but didn't reveal any additional details about the relationship.
"You want to know if I'm dating someone, and the answer to that is 'yes,'" David said.
"I'm actually sitting in the exact same spot that I met her," he added in the self-recorded video, which appeared to have been filmed in an office or commercial building.
"Thanks for all the support over the years... I'll see you when I see you, bye."
