Samantha Role and Neil Bowlus appeared on Season 3 of Married at First Sight.
Samantha wanted to remain married at the end of the process.
However, Neil was dissatisfied with their relationship overall, so he decided they should split.
Samantha and Neil got a divorce, however, they remained friends.
Sam got engaged to a new man, Chris Wise, in January 2018, and gave birth to the couple's first child in September 2018.
In January 2019, Sam revealed she and Chris had secretly married in April 2018.
In April 2020, Lifetime aired a Married at First Sight: Where Are They Now? special that provided updates on some of MAFS's former participants.
In an Where Are They Now? update video he self-recorded with fellow Season 3 participant Tres Russell, whom Neil has remained friends with, he said he is currently dating someone.
"Are you dating anyone? Yes, I am," Neil said. "Thank you for asking."
Sam also appeared on the Where Are They Now? special for an in-studio interview with host Kevin Frazier.
Sam said Married at First Sight had changed her for the better.
Watching her Married at First Sight season back, Sam said she was "disgusted" by her own behavior and what she saw and heard, insisting in tears, "I'm not that person anymore."
Sam told Kevin had she not been matched to marry Neil, she wouldn't be the person she is today.
Sam gushed about being "so grateful" to have a person like Neil in her life, who checked in via video chat and told Sam he's still her biggest supporter and wishes her the very best.
"Did the experts find the right guy for you?" Kevin asked Sam.
"Oh, absolutely," she replied.
"Unfortunately, I had to lose him to realize why my previous relationships were a failure and learn from that, and because of him, I am not able to have a successful relationship with my husband whom I love and who has given me the best thing in life, my daughter."
