Giuliana Rancic is owning the fact she's too skinny right now, but there is a good reason why and ultimately no excuse for bullying.

"It's really hurtful... I'm sorry that some people think I'm disgustingly skinny, as they put it," she told People. "I look in the mirror and it's hard for me. I am really thin."
The E! News anchor's slim appearance at the Golden Globes this past January sparked rumors she's suffering from an eating disorder. Her weight also prompted an outrageous assumption.
"Some people were saying, 'The cancer is probably back,'" noted Rancic, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2011 and underwent a double mastectomy that year to fight it.
"And they were accusing me of every eating disorder. I thought to myself, 'God, if someone really thought I had an eating disorder, what a horrible way to approach it.'"
Rancic said she never wants her weight to distract people from how she does her job, but that seems nearly impossible at this point.
"It is becoming a distraction, [whenever] I wear something sleeveless, show my arms, my back," she admitted.
So what's the reason behind her tiny figure? Rancic's metabolism has apparently sped up due to a medication she's been taking since 2012 to help her stay in remission.
"I started noticing that I was eating a lot, but not gaining weight at all. I was concerned," said Rancic, whose doctors later explained the medication's side effects. "But there's nothing I can do. I'm lucky that I even have the type of cancer that reacts to the medicine."
The mother of a two-year-old son named Duke insisted she actually has a great appetite and certainly isn't dieting.
"I eat more than any of my friends," Rancic told People. "I eat a very robust, healthy, balanced diet and dessert almost every night. I'm not hiding from anything... I want to look fit and beautiful and sexy, and I can't."
The Fashion Police co-host has written a memoir, Going Off Script, that will be released to the public April 7. A major publication previously backed out on a potential deal simply because she was "too skinny," according to the magazine.

"That was really hurtful," Rancic confessed. "I thought, 'Wow, I'm on cancer medication. I'm doing the best that I can.'"
However, Rancic won't allow herself to obsess over the scrutiny because she's well aware she has a lot to be thankful for.
"I refuse to be broken [by what people say]," Rancic explained. "I have so many beautiful things in my life."
