During Sunday night's awards broadcast, a tribute was paid to multiple film-industry figures who passed away in the last year, but the former Fashion Police host was not mentioned, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"Joan Rivers is among the many worthy artists and filmmakers we were unfortunately unable to feature in the 'In Memoriam' segment of this year's Oscar show," an Oscar representative told The Reporter in a statement. "She is, however, included in our 'In Memoriam' gallery on Oscar.com."

In September 2014, Rivers went into cardiac arrest after a routine throat procedure on her vocal cords, which ultimately led to her death. She was best known for being a red-carpet icon and style expert.

In addition to her TV stints such as The Celebrity Apprentice and Joan and Melissa: Joan Knows Best, Rivers also appeared in films such as The Smurfs and The Muppets Take Manhattan. She also did voiceovers for Shrek 2 and Spaceballs
