The five couples who tied the knot at first sight are Camille and Thomas, Karla and Juan, Madison and Allen, David and Michelle, and Emem and Ikechi.
If at the end of the eight-week experiment a couple is unhappy, they can choose to split and part ways on "Decision Day."
The Married at First Sight broadcast began with 19 days to go until Decision Day.
Ikechi and Emem decided to meet up for ice cream in Chicago and play a game of cards. Emem was trying to be present and in the moment with Ikechi, but she acknowledged how this "just be" behavior didn't come naturally for her.
For Ikechi's part, he said he was trying to give his marriage to Emem a chance; however, he called their relationship dynamic "awkward."
Not only did Ikechi plan to travel to Houston, TX, to see his family alone that weekend, but he also wasn't wearing his wedding ring. Ikechi claimed he had been washing dishes and forgot to put it back on, but Emem still found the gesture "disrespectful" and very telling.
But Camille and Thomas' relationship was thriving. Camille told the cameras she and Thomas could "definitely spice up" their sex life because Thomas acted like a gentleman, even in the bedroom.
The next day, the group of MAFS 18 ladies met up for a sound bath at Karla's hot yoga studio while the men -- except for Ikechi -- bonded while boxing and letting off some steam.
Emem shared with Madison, Karla, Camille and Michelle how Ikechi didn't seem to want to be in their marriage.
The girls were shocked to hear that Ikechi wasn't wearing his wedding ring and that he also chose not to invite his wife to his Texas college homecoming.

Emem explained how she usually would've left this relationship but Ikechi was her husband and so she needed to approach things differently.
Michelle then revealed how she had received a text from David saying that she looked "so damn fine" and he wanted "to eat" her up. The girls could not believe David was claiming that the text was about a plate of food and had been intended for his cousin Denise.
Michelle asked Madison and Karla if they had noticed any strange behavior on David's part since they were all out at a bar together that night, but Madison insisted she and Karla had "dipped" pretty early into the night.
Madison also advised Michelle to just ask David for the truth without coming across angry or judgmental, and Karla added, "The truth always comes out!"
With 17 days to go until Decision Day, Michelle and David met up with MAFS expert Pastor Calvin Roberson, who wasn't buying David's cousin story at all.
Michelle explained to David how her parents had divorced over infidelity and so that alleged sext was a big red flag and trigger for her.
David told Pastor Cal that his text was "100 percent" supposed to go to his cousin and he was telling the truth, but Pastor Cal asked David to show evidence of the text thread.
David refused to show any proof of his alleged text exchange with his cousin, and he also didn't seem to think there was a problem about his hangout sessions with women he had previously dated on Tinder.

David wanted Michelle to believe him and take him at his word, but Pastor Cal advised Michelle to get to the bottom of things by going right to the source, Denise, and communicating about the text message.
"[The receipts] will either draw you closer or bring you to the realization of where you are and what decisions you need to make," Pastor Cal said.
After the meeting, Michelle didn't feel anything had been resolved, and she told David that he looked really bad and should want to "save" his reputation.
When Michelle asked to see the receipts, David didn't budge -- and he also didn't offer a good explanation as to why he wouldn't show her his alleged text with Denise.
"He's lying, and it's disrespectful to everyone involved... mainly me," Michelle shared in a confessional, adding how David was clearly "hiding something" and she had just met "the real" David that day.
Michelle added, "He's defensive, he's combative. Is David just a f-ckboy? Has he been texting this woman the whole time?... What else is he doing? I don't know!"
Later on, MAFS expert Dr. Pia Holec met with Juan and Karla, Madison and Allen, and Camille and Thomas.
Dr. Pia attempted to help the couples build physical intimacy.
The expert advised Thomas to take charge in the bedroom because Camille -- who was typically dominant -- said she was ready to have her hair pulled and ass smacked! In turn, Thomas gently asked Camille to reciprocate oral sex.
Dr. Pia asked Juan and Karla to do a tantric yoga session together, and she also asked Madison and Allen to play a game of sex questions.
Madison explained how she didn't really like how Allen acted when he drank alcohol but they were working to build trust. Dr. Pia insisted their problems were small and could be easily fixed, and she suggested that maybe Allen was going to rock Madison's world in the bedroom.
"There is a reason people put up with my outlandish behavior sometimes," Allen quipped.

With 16 days to go until Decision Day, Emem didn't want to return to her shared apartment with Ikechi, and David was trying to give Michelle space because she had "assumptions" that she couldn't get over.
Madison and Allen were then shown asking each other sexual questions. They discussed foreplay, their favorite positions, what sparked an orgasm for them, and whether stress made them want to be intimate as a form of release.
Madison was starting to think that she and Allen could be sexually compatible, but then Allen admitted how he had assumptions about Madison's sexual life when they first met on their wedding day.
"There are people who enjoy passionate sex, that emotional connection, which, I think, that's you! At the beginning, I thought it was much more of a superficial [thing]. The word I'm going to use is not right; I just can't think of anything else, so don't take offense to this -- but transactional," Allen said.
"Transactional? That's a really bad word to say," Madison replied. "What made you think I was that superficial -- because of how I look?"
"No," Allen responded. "Not your looks... When you're out on the dance floor, you're sticking your ass out. I got the 'young party girl,' like a club kind of girl."
Madison said she wasn't on a pole with her boobs out and she didn't like that association. Madison admitted Allen's initial take on her was a trigger because she worked hard and had her "sh-t together."
Allen insisted that he didn't think that way of Madison after getting to know her and he was just trying to describe the initial impression he had of her.
But Allen's revelation clearly killed the mood, and when Allen left the apartment to take his dog for a walk, Madison started to cry.
Madison said she had to fight for her place at work and for people to take her seriously. Madison complained about how people didn't think she deserved what she had achieved in life, and she hoped her husband was going to "defy" that view of her rather than "validate" it.
Madison didn't feel like Allen had her back. Madison claimed that she wasn't mad at Allen but was certainly "disappointed, hurt and frustrated."

The next day, Madison shared of her mindset in a confessional, "I feel like yesterday would've been a really good step forward for us, and it had that potential, but then it took a very unexpected turn. I don't know where we'll go from here."
After Camille and Thomas were shown spicing things up in the bedroom with bondage and gags, Karla and Juan enjoyed their tantric yoga session. Karla, however, didn't think Juan had taken it very seriously, and the session didn't seem to progress their lack of a physical connection.
Later on, Allen found Madison at the gym, and Madison explained how she didn't think Allen had tried to hurt her but the word "transactional" was not okay.
"I really did not mean it. I made a poor choice of words," Allen said, adding how he had attached an unfair stereotype to her.
"You've made assumptions of me... like in the context of, 'I'm a pushover,' in the early days of us getting to know each other."
Madison didn't appreciate Allen trying to turn things around on her, but he claimed he wasn't doing that.
"You're a lot more sensitive than me. You're a lot more sensitive than a lot of people I know," Allen complained.
"Why are you so fired up right now, Allen?! Did you want to come into this just to piss me off? Because that's what you're doing! You're coming into this with guns blazing... and not listening to how I'm feeling," Madison countered.
Allen pointed out how he was worried when she didn't return home after their awkward night, but Madison clapped back about how she at least came home.
Allen apologized for triggering Madison, and she explained how she cared about what he thought and she wanted him to show more empathy.
The confrontation at the gym resulted in Madison feeling more frustrated and annoyed. Madison had opened up to Allen only to be told she was too sensitive, which infuriated her.

"I do have love for you, and I think a lot of this has been me trying to appease you so that you can 'get there' with us... It does hurt, and I don't think I've been letting you know my actual feelings," Allen told his wife.
Allen promised that he was working on his communication, and Madison said she appreciated his honesty and cared about him a lot as well.
With two weeks to go until Decision Day, Michelle called Denise on the phone and asked her if David's text about her food was the truth.
Denise flat out told Michelle that David had never sent her that text message about food and that she didn't condone his behavior. Michelle had proof in that moment that David was lying, but she had no idea whom that text message was created for.
"Now he's got some explaining to do! Now we have to figure out, 'What is the real story? Who was the message for? Was it in response to a photo? Whose photo was sent? Did he see someone across the bar and was sending it on the spot?' Now I have a million more questions that I want answered," Michelle concluded.
