Married at First Sight star Shawniece Jackson just announced she's expecting her first child, and her husband Jephte Pierre has broken his silence and confirmed he's the dad.

Shawniece revealed to People earlier on Tuesday she's pregnant, but since her announcement was made before the finale of Married at First Sight aired on Lifetime, Shawniece appeared to intentionally leave out if Jephte is the baby's father.
Shawniece was likely trying to avoid spoiling the Married at First Sight season's ending as to whether she and Jephte ultimately chose to stay married or get a divorce on "Decision Day."

But Shawniece did share with People yesterday that her pregnancy came as a complete surprise to her.
"I was in the emergency room because I felt awful and had no idea what was wrong. They came back and told me all my symptoms were from pregnancy and that I was pregnant. I was totally shocked," Shawniece said.
Jephte was often shown talking to Shawniece about how he couldn't wait to become a father on Season 6 of Married at First Sight, which just concluded with the Boston-area couple choosing to stay married following the extreme eight-week experiment.
Jephte revealed on Married at First Sight he'd ideally like to have four children after talking himself out of the idea of welcoming six kids into the family due to financial burdens of sending them all to private schools and such. Shawniece, however, admitted at the time she'd love to have only two children.
Even though they didn't agree on everything, Shawniece loved listening to Jephte's dreams about starting a family because it meant he was serious about their marriage and future together.

One night at dinner, Jephte and Shawniece were even shown discussing potential baby names. Jephte made it clear he'd love to have a Jephte Jr. if his wife eventually gave birth to a son, while Shawniece suggested the name Jackson.
Shawniece and Jephte's relationship was a slow burn on Married at First Sight, as Jephte was incredibly reserved and cautious.

Jephte not only refused to sleep in the same bed as Shawniece for weeks, but he also refrained from physical affection until he felt totally comfortable.
It took time for Jephte to stop viewing his wife as a stranger, but once he let his walls down, the pair got along fabulously and began making memories together. It was therefore not much of a surprise when the couple chose to make their marriage work long-term.
Married at First Sight's special 90-minute reunion special will air Tuesday, May 1 at 8:30PM ET/PT on Lifetime.
