But on the latest Married at First Sight episode that aired Wednesday night on Lifetime, Madison admitted that Allen was not her "type" because she was used to dating "pretty boys" who were clean shaven, well groomed and athletic looking.

During the couple's honeymoon in Cancun, a flip appeared to switch for Madison in which she went from feeling confident about her relationship with Allen to being overwhelmed with anxiety.

On Married at First Sight: Afterparty, Madison watched back a clip of herself venting to the four other newlywed couples.

"I went into this knowing that I cannot be just my normal, single self. I have to be more vulnerable, and I have to be a partner. So that's what, like, caused more anxiety for me -- sitting in my own thoughts of like, 'Holy sh-t, okay, this is real. This is what we're going into,' and it is just a lot," Madison complains.

Allen then reacts in a confessional and says, "Whoa! Sh-t! I was not getting that vibe, like, at all. I didn't realize that it was weighing on her that much."

Afterparty host Keshia Knight Pulliam therefore asked Madison if something happened after her wedding night with Allen to make her feel a change of heart.

When asked what happened to result in her doing a 180, Madison explained, "Honestly, the night of the wedding, when we got ready for bed, I was a little surprised by his choice of outfit."

Keshia asked Madison what Allen should've worn, but instead, Madison chose to recall what Allen did choose to wear.

"He comes out of the bathroom in a hot pink broccoli underwear and a white loose-ass tank top," Madison said with a laugh.

"And I was like, 'Okay, well, this is what we're working with here!' So it just kind of threw me for a loop."

Madison admitted Allen's style -- or lack thereof -- "shocked" her "a little bit" and shook her up.

"Allen is a quirkier dude, which is not a bad thing, it's just something I'm not used to," Madison acknowledged.

Keshia pointed out how Allen seemed to have "an interesting swagger" about him that could transcend a weird outfit, but fellow Married at First Sight star Karla -- who also appeared on Afterparty -- flashed a look of disbelief and disapproval on her face.

Karla subsequently burst into laughter.

But on a serious note, Madison apparently has regrets about how she handled her anxiety that day.

"I definitely would've loved to have had that conversation with Allen without the group because we all just met each other. We weren't that close yet, and I do feel bad that he was blindsided because our wedding was so great," Madison explained.

Later during the honeymoon, Allen confronted Madison about her sudden onset of anxiety and fear.

"I feel like you can read if I'm feeling uncomfy, but then you almost don't want to do anything to make it more uncomfy," Madison told Allen.

"That's exactly it," Allen responded.

"I obviously want to move away from that, and I want to feel that connection that we had at our wedding," Madison explained.

"I don't want you to feel like I'm pushing you away 100 percent," she added.

"I'm still working through things, but I really am trying. I really appreciate you being as communicative and vulnerable and supportive because it's making it a lot easier for us. So thank you for that."

On Afterparty, Madison reiterated how she really appreciated Allen's patience and communication skills.

"Because I know there was a shift from the wedding," Madison confirmed, "and I really am trying to put my best foot forward, even though, in my mind, I'm kind of going through a roller coaster of feelings."

Madison concluded, "It's not going to help either of us if we don't try to talk through it and move forward."
