Nick Viall took to heart some advice from last season's The Bachelor star Ben Higgins.

Viall recently met with Higgins and his fiancee Lauren Bushnell for dinner to talk about serving as the next leading man. After all, the couple got engaged on The Bachelor's 20th season and still appear happy and in love.
"The advice that Ben gave me that probably stuck with me the most was if I'm not lucky enough to meet someone that I really feel in my heart that I want to spend the rest of my life with, don't be afraid not to get engaged," Viall told People.
While Viall also briefly got to chat with Season 19's The Bachelor star Chris Soules, he really appreciated Higgins' honest advice.
"I thought [that] was a very genuine bit of advice and something that I definitely took to heart," Viall said.
Higgins' words of wisdom ring especially true for Viall considering he planned to propose to both Andi Dorfman and Kaitlyn Bristowe on back-to-back seasons of The Bachelorette, however, the ladies decided to reject him in favor of winners Josh Murray and Shawn Booth, respectively.
Murray and Dorfman, The Bachelorette's tenth-season star, split six months after their proposal aired on television in July 2014. Booth and Bristowe, the show's eleventh-season star, are still together.
When Viall appeared on Bachelor in Paradise 3 this summer, he was guarded and very hesitant to fall in love again in fear of getting hurt or looking like a fool.
When it became time to choose whether he wanted to propose to Jennifer Saviano at the final Rose Ceremony, he shocked the world by choosing to dump her entirely, but he claims they kept in touch after the show and stayed friends.
"As much as I hope to meet someone, I'm not going to just ask for the sake of asking," Viall insisted to People. "You know, it's not like the last one standing."
