The Amazing Race's new cast of 14 teams will be racing around the world when Season 37 premieres Wednesday, March 5 at 9:30PM ET/PT on CBS.

CBS will air 90-minute episodes of The Amazing Race on Wednesday nights all season long following 90-minute Survivor broadcasts at 8PM ET/PT.

The "season of surprises," according to the network, will feature the largest cast in show history and continue to be hosted by Phil Keoghan.

The 14 teams will encounter game-changing twists in every episode, including the Fast Forward and U-Turn.

In addition, new The Amazing Race challenges will be added.

For example, Racers will face the new "Fork in the Road" during the first leg in Hong Kong.

When teams arrive at the Fork in the Road, they will have to choose which direction and route they want to take to the Pit Stop, creating two parallel races where two teams will ultimately be eliminated.

"This season 14 teams will embark on an unforgettable adventure," The Amazing Race executive producers Bertram van Munster and Elise Doganieri said in a statement.

"Traveling around the globe for a stop in Osaka, Japan, where they will experience a modern-day bullet train in a thriving city and then immerse themselves in a 12,000-year-old tradition, performing with a taiko drum group."

The executive producers elaborated, "They will feel the adrenaline rush of skydiving over Dubai's breathtaking cityscape contrasted with another stop, for the first time on The Amazing Race, in the countryside of Bulgaria, where they will participate in a traditional folk dance."

The Amazing Race will also be adding a new city this season.

"Teams will visit the medieval village of Strasbourg, France," Bertram and Elise shared, "which will feel like stepping into a fairytale. For our season of surprises, there is no end to the drama, twists and turns until we see who the winners are!"

During every leg of the Race, each team must compete in a series of challenges, some mental and some physical, and only when the tasks are completed will they learn of their next location.

Teams that are the farthest behind will gradually be eliminated as the season progresses, and the first team to arrive at the final destination and cross the finish line will win the $1 million prize.

The Amazing Race concluded its 36th season in May 2024 with "Dating Couple" Ricky Rotandi and Cesar Aldrete being crowned champions.

Ricky, a 34-year-old preschool teacher, and Cesar, a 34-year-old food stylist, crossed the finish line in Philadelphia, PA, in first place and therefore won $1 million.

Ricky and Cesar had traveled across eight countries, 14 cities and spanned 11,711 miles.
