Fox eventually aired the first hour of the two-hour The X Factor episode beginning around approximately 8:40PM ET last week. However, the broadcast ended abruptly after an hour, leaving viewers in the dark about the identities of the competition's six remaining Top 16 acts. In addition, the broadcast began airing at about 5:40PM on the West Coast -- leaving those viewers to watch an encore of an earlier broadcast at 8PM.
Although Fox originally said the entire two-hour broadcast would air in its entirety on Tuesday night, the network later revised its schedule and that wasn't the case. Instead, Fox aired a one-hour broadcast that recapped the unveiling of judge Demi Lovato's first two selections and then showed her picking the remaining two members of her team and sharing the news with them. In addition, last night's episode featured The X Factor creator and fellow judge Simon Cowell making all four of his team selections.
Lovato revealed Cece Frey, a 21-year-old from Decatur, IL, and Paige Thomas, a 22-year-old from San Antonio, TX, would be the two other members of her "Young Adults" (17-24) category. The partial broadcast also showed Lovato telling Nick Youngerman, a 21-year-old from Tipp City, OH, he had been cut from the competition.
Frey and Thomas joined Jennel Garcia, an 18-year-old from Rochester, MA, and Willie Jones, an 18-year-old from Shreveport, LA, on her team, as she announced they'd be moving forward with her to live shows last week.
Cowell -- who will mentor the "Groups" -- selected Emblem3, LYLAS, Lyric 145, and Sister C to be the four acts on his team.
Emblem3 consists of Drew Chadwick, a 20-year-old from Huntington Beach, CA; Keaton Stromberg, a 16-year-old from Huntington Beach, CA; and Wesley Stromberg, an 18-year-old from Huntington Beach, CA.
LYLAS is comprised of members Ally Brooke, a 19-year-old from Santa Ana, CA; Camila Cabello, a 15-year-old from San Antonio, TX; Normani Hamilton, a 16-year-old from Miami, FL; Dinah Jane Hansen, a 15-year-old from Miami, FL; and Lauren Jauregui, a 16-year-old from Court Pearland, TX. The all-girl group was formed by The X Factor's judges at the conclusion of the Boot Camp round when they selected five singers who had failed to make the cut as individuals.
Lyric 145 consists of former One4Five duo members Julien Joseph, a 19-year-old from Bay Shore, NY, and Jemelle Joseph, a 23-year-old from Bay Shore, NY, as well as rapper Lyric-Bianca Barnes, a 23-year-old from Atlanta, GA who had previously called herself Lyric Da Queen. Similar to LYLAS, One4Five and Lyric Da Queen had auditioned separately and were combined into Lyric 145 by the judges at the end of the Boot Camp round.
Sister C is made up of sisters Carli Rayne Manchaca, a 21-year-old from Cove, TX; Celbi Manchaca, a 19-year-old from Cove, TX; and Cirby Ryan Manchaca, an 18-year-old from Cove, TX.
Cowell's decision cut acts Dope Crisis, which is comprised of Eli Brown, a 30-year-old from Philadelphia, PA, and Jesse Stearn, a 26-year-old from Philadelphia, PA, along with Playback -- which consists of members Austin Corini, a 17-year-old from Gilroy, CA; Brandon Hassan, a 16-year-old from Irving, TX; Johnny Maxwell, a 16-year-old from Castro Valley, CA; Josh Metzler, a 16-year-old from Gilbert, AZ; and Owen Stuart, a 17-year-old from Charlotte, NC. Like LYLAS, Playback, an all-boy group, had been formed by
at the conclusion of the Boot Camp round when the judges selected singers who had failed to make the cut on their own.
Last week's partial broadcast showed The X Factor judge Britney Spears opting to have Beatrice Miller, a 13-year-old from Maplewood, NJ; Arin Ray, a 17-year-old from Cincinnati, OH; Carly Rose Sonenclar, a 13-year-old from Mamaroneck, NY; and Diamond White, a 13-year-old from Los Angeles, CA, on her team for the "Teens" (16 and under) category.

In addition, The X Factor judge L.A. Reid -- who will mentor the "Over 25s" category -- was shown selecting Vino Alan, a 40-year-old from Laquey, MO; David Correy, a 27-year-old from Riva, MD; Jason Brock, a 35-year-old from San Francisco, CA; and Tate Stevens, a 37-year-old from Raymore, MO.
