World of Dance advanced a whopping 16 dance acts to the next round during Tuesday night's broadcast of the NBC reality competition series' second season.

The final episode of "The Qualifiers" round featured World of Dance executive producer and judge Jennifer Lopez and her fellow judges, Grammy Award-winning singer Ne-Yo and six-time Dancing with the Stars champion Derek Hough, sending 16 dance acts to "The Duels."

The judges decided to advance Victoria Caban, a flamenco dancer representing the Junior Team division; Pursuit, a contemporary act in the Upper Team category; L&J, a duo in the Upper division; The Pulse, a ballroom group representing the Junior Team; Avery & Marcus, a contemporary and ballet duo in the Junior category; Funkywunks, a hip-hop crew representing the Upper Team; and Iowa Girls, a group of young ladies representing the Junior Team.

The other acts who moved on to the next round were Dem Raider Boyz, a group in the Junior Team category; Girl Cool in the Junior Team division; Second To None, a trio in the Junior category; Lil Killaz Crew, a group in the Junior Team division; Opus Dance Collective, a group in the Upper Team; 3 Xtreme, a trio in the Junior division; Angyil, a soloist in the Upper division; Tribe Unleashed, a group in the Junior Team category; and Morning of Owl, a street fusion group in the Upper division.

Junior (1-4 people) and Junior Team (5 or more people) competitors are under the age of 17, while Upper (1-4 people) and Upper Team (5 or more people) dancers are age 18 or older.

The competition consists of five rounds -- The Qualifiers, The Duels, The Cut, The Divisional Final and The World Final. The World Final will feature the four different division winners going head to head for the $1 million grand prize.

Ne-Yo, Derek and Jennifer individually determine a score for a dance act in "The Qualifiers" from 1-20 points in each of the following five categories: Performance, technique, choreography, creativity, and presentation.

In The Qualifiers round, the highest score a dance act can receive is 100 points from the judging panel; however, a total score of 80 points or higher is required for a dance act to move on to the next round.

Victoria received 89 points from Ne-Yo, 93 points from Jennifer And 90 points from Derek on Tuesday night, for an average total score of 90.7 points.

Jennifer said her lines were "exquisite" and it was like "watching art." Ne-Yo applauded the soloist for mixing flamenco with contemporary because she took things up a notch, and Derek noted her performance was "captivating" and graceful.

Pursuit earned a total average score of 87 points after earning 86 points from Ne-Yo, 89 points from Jennifer And 86 points from Derek.

Jennifer admitted the group got off to a slow start but they gave her goosebumps once the performance progressed. She said it was strong and powerful. Ne-Yo enjoyed the routine from top to bottom, and Derek said they created "magic."

L&J received 94 points from Ne-Yo, 89 points from Jennifer, and 88 points from Derek for a grand average total of 90.3 points.

Jennifer gushed about how their chemistry made her believe they're a real-life couple when they are not, and Ne-Yo noted they did their job through exuding passion. Derek called L&J's performance authentic and beautiful, saying their emotion was not rehearsed or practiced.

The Pulse just made it by the skin of their teeth! The group received 78 points from Ne-Yo, 84 points from Jennifer, and 79 points from Derek. The duo's average total score was 80.3 points.

Derek admitted some of the dancers were a little erratic in their movements, and Jennifer agreed they had some things to work on. Ne-Yo felt they had potential but weren't quite ready for this competition yet.

Avery & Marcus advanced after Ne-Yo scored them 85 points, Jennifer gave them 83 points, and Derek scored them 84 points -- making for an average total of 84 points.

Jennifer could feel the pair's nerves right from the beginning, but she advised them to believe in how amazing they are. Ne-Yo was impressed by their agility and level of talent, and Derek loved the fusion of traditional ballet with some edge.

The Funkywunks received 89 points from Ne-Yo, 87 points from Jennifer, and 85 points from Derek. The group therefore earned a total average score of 87 points.

Jennifer gushed about how they were serious about their business but also sexy at the same time, and Derek called the routine "dope" with some "wow moments." Ne-Yo also thought the performance was clean.

Iowa girls and Dem Raider Boyz were featured in a montage and they earned an average score of 87.3 and 84 points, respectively. Opus Dance Collective received a total of 80.7 points, and 3 Xtreme earned a score of 83.3 points. Tribe Unleashed racked in 83 points.

In addition, Girl Cool received a total average score of 81.7 points, Second To None earned 82.7 points, Lil Killaz Crew received an average score of 83 points, and Angyil earned 85.3 points.

And finally, Morning of Owl was scored 82 points by Ne-Yo, 86 points by Jennifer, and 84 points by Derek for a total average score of 84 points.

Jennifer called the performance "spontaneous and fun." Ne-Yo loved the incorporation of martial arts, and Derek said the routine started slow but then they switched into a different gear. Derek wanted the trio to advance simply because he was curious to see what they'd deliver in the next round.
