Azan Tefou

Azan Tefou Biography

After originally appearing on Season 4 of 90 Day FianceNicole Nafziger and Azan Tefou also returned for Season 5 of 90 Day Fiance and Seasons 3 and 4 of 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After?.

Nicole was a 21-year-old from Bradenton, FL, when she met Azan who was a 23-year-old from Agadir, Morocco, through a mobile dating app.

Nicole decided to travel to Morocco for five weeks, leaving her toddler daughter May at home.

The couple faced challenges overcoming their opposing views on PDA, as Azan was concerned about showing physical affection in public due to his religion and culture. He also complained about Nicole being "a little big."

Nicole later revealed she had cheated on Azan, but the couple worked through their problems and Azan eventually proposed marriage in the desert.

Nicole also didn't want to convert to Islam and Azan didn't want to convert to Christianity, however the pair seemed to believe their love for each other would conquer all.

On Season 3 of 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After?, Nicole was shown traveling to Morocco after Azan's K-1 visa was denied in the hope they'd tie the knot and obtain a spousal visa for Azan so he could eventually move to the United States.

However, the couple eventually decided to postpone their wedding plans -- a development that also continued throughout 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After?'s fourth season.

Despite the wait, Nicole and Azan are still together but living in different countries.

Nicole has repeatedly denied rumors that the couple has split or will not eventual marry.

"I [don't know] where this is coming from," Nicole replied to an Instagram follower this summer. "Make sure when you read articles, you check when it was posted. Sometimes old articles circulate. We are still happily together."

In June 2019, Nicole also said it was "highly likely" her wedding would take place by the end of 2019.

In August 2019, In Touch Weekly reported Nicole is getting her life "back on track" with a new job and apartment now that it looks like her return to Morocco isn't happening any time soon.

"Nicole recently started a job working as a barista at a local Starbucks," an insider told the magazine, which is the job Nicole held down prior to moving to Morocco for three months in 2018.

"Her family hopes that having a job will help her fend for herself and really mature as an adult and a mother."

Nicole is also reportedly now renting her own apartment -- instead of crashing at her mother, father or sister's homes -- and enrolled her five-year-old daughter, May, in kindergarten.

"Nicole moved out of her mom's house and is now living in her own apartment with May," the insider told the magazine.

"She still has a good relationship with her mom, Robbalee. She helps take care of May a lot when Nicole is busy or has to go to work."

"She's focusing on those aspects of her life right now before she can consider going to Morocco or starting a future with Azan."

In September 2019, Nicole told her Instagram followers that she and Azan were still together but no longer have any immediate plans to marry.

In March 2020, Nicole traveled to Morocco and reunited with Azan.

"So happy to finally be with my love again," Nicole captioned a March 11 Instagram photo of the couple.

Later that month, Nicole revealed she had become stranded in Morocco due to the coronavirus pandemic.

"Sucks everything is closed. I'm still in Morocco for everyone that wants to know," she wrote in an Instagram Stories posting.

"Not going home just yet. But I'm fine. We're good."

Nicole reportedly did not leave for Morocco planning to marry Azan while she was there.

"Her family isn't aware of there being any kind of wedding planning at the moment," a source close to the family told In Touch Weekly.

"If it's happening, it would be a shock to them. Nicole would want her close family there and [her daughter] May for sure, so her family thinks she wouldn't go and get married behind their backs."

Nicole eventually returned from Morocco and reunited with her daughter May after being out of the United States for about four months.

Then, after months of rumors about the status of her relationship with Azaz, Nicole confirmed the couple had split in July 2021.

"I am heartbroken to confirm Azan and I are DONE FOR GOOD," Nicole wrote in an Instagram Stories post.

"Azan and I have decided to go our separate ways," Nicole told In Touch Weekly in an additional statement. "We had much love and respect for each other, but we weren't without our faults."

"Unfortunately, we can no longer continue our journey together," she added.

"This may be a shock to many because we stayed strong for so long through it all. But as we move forward and heal, we ask that you respect both parties and not constantly ask about it."

The reality TV star said, "Thank you to everyone who has supported us together and continue to support [us] as separate individuals."

Nicole insisted she still considers Azan to be "a good person" despite their split.

"[He] deserves to be happy as much as I do. We ended on good terms and I wish him the best," Nicole noted.
