Heather Luttrell (born December 5, 1977) is a musician from Atlanta, Georgia.

Early Life

Born in Atlanta, Georgia in 1977, she was raised in Decatur, Georgia by her mother, an ER nurse, and her father, Ralph Luttrell, a resonator guitar player in the bluegrass band Possum Trot. She grew up listening to her father play in Atlanta area bars such as The Alibi and The Freight Room. She could often be found napping in his guitar case during his performances.

Music Career

Heather has been entertaining people in the Atlanta area with since she was 20. Her musical style is a blend of alternative, classic rock, and blues. In between her day jobs as a waitress or a nanny, Heather has been seen playing around Atlanta at places like Earthlink Live, Eddie's Attic, Smith's Olde Bar, The Royal Oak Pub, Norcross Tavern, and Flanigan's. She's opened for such acts as Michelle Malone, Angie Aparo, Ryan Adams with Elton John, Ian Moore, Tegan and Sara and Alana Davis. Heather started writing her own music at a very young Age. She wrote lyrics to acoustic guitar and piano tracks. After performing several solo shows in the atlanta area, Heather found musicians and together they formed "Heathergrrrl" and "The Hungover". They released a live album and toured the southeast states. Heather eventually ventured out on her own again and became a contestant on Rock Star Inxs.

Rock Star INXS

Heather was a contestant on the CBS television series Rock Star: INXS, a competition to be the new lead singer of the band INXS. Heather made it too week 3 before getting eliminated along with Daphna Dove.

Burning Down The House (Premiere) Inxs liked that she was her own thing.

Somebody To Love (Week 1) INXS said she did awesome

It's Only Rock N' Roll (Week 2) INXS said that she keeps on getting better and better

If It Makes You Happy (Week 3) Dave said he missed her Southern heat and INXS said her performance lacked in intensity. Heather said she had been sick that week which led INXS to tell her that she had to be able to take care of herself on the road.

By My Side (Bottom 3 Performance) INXS said it was as if she had already given up. Heather was then eliminated.

After INXS

Heather has since released her cd "grits n pulp".The album is a mixture of blues and acoustic tracks. Heather commented on the album saying she wanted to make a raw blues album and that she didn't want it to sound overproduced.

Currently, Heather is working on her follow up cd to "Grits N Pulp" and also touring much of the southeast with her band.
