Ivette Corredero (born January or February, 1980) from Miami, Florida, was a contestant on the American version of the hit reality TV show Big Brother 6, broadcast by CBS in 2005. She was also one of 20 former contestants eligible to appear in Big Brother 7, but she was not selected.

Big Brother 6

Ivette was one of fourteen Big Brother 6 contestants, who were confined in a house together, with the objective of outlasting one another. At the beginning of each week, there was a new Head of Household (HoH), who determined who was able to nominate other members for removal at the end of the week. After each nomination, a vote was held amongst contestants to select one nominee to remove.

In this season, dubbed the Summer of Secrets, each contestant had a secret partner, that they knew before the show. Ivette's secret partner, was Beau Beasley, who was a former co-worker. If the two partners had made it to the end, the prize money would have been $1,000,000. However, Beau was eliminated some time before Ivette, so the prize money remained at the normal level.

Ultimately, Ivette and Maggie Ausburn were the last two contestants remaining, after Janelle Pierzina was evicted (with Ivette voting to evict her). A jury made up of seven previously evicted contestants selected between the two remaining contestants, choosing Maggie as the winner of the $500,000 grand prize in a four to three vote. As runner up, Ivette received $50,000.

Personal life

Of Cuban and Dominican descent, Corredero graduated from South Miami High School, after which she became a communications arts major at St. Thomas University. While attending, she was awarded the Susan E. Sachs Scholarship by the Atlantic-Florida Chapter of The Association for Women in Communications. The award is given to top communications students, and Ivette was its first recipient. Immediately prior to doing Big Brother 6, Ivette was a waitress in Miami, Florida.
