"I am nervous what you will think of [my hometown]. It's very, very conservative," Litia revealed.
"My family is very religious... and I have typically only dated people in my same religion, but it didn't work out, obviously."
Grant admitted to the cameras that Litia -- who appeared to be his frontrunner at that point -- really "surprised" him with that news.
Grant wasn't sure how -- or if -- he'd fit into her family dynamic, but he said she was certainly "worth" trying.
"I wouldn't consider myself a super religious person, but I do have faith," Grant told Us Weekly in an interview published on Tuesday, February 25.
"[Litia being Mormon] didn't make a difference as long as the root was there."
Grant added, "When things get tough, you have to rely on that belief because life throws curveballs at you."
Litia told Grant during their one-on-one date in Scotland that her faith "completely shaped" the kind of family she'd like to have one day and how she wants to raise her children. Litia also explained how she wants God to be a part of her marriage.
"I want my kids to grow up in a house where they know that God loves them and they are important and that their parents love them and there's nothing they could ever do to make them not loved," Litia explained to The Bachelor star.

When asked to share what type of role God played in his life, Grant admitted to Litia that he had made some bad decisions in his life but his faith in God has been "a cornerstone" for him to be able to "live the right way."
Grant noted of his religion, however, "I don't think [I need] a bunch of rules."
"I don't think I have to pray every night at 9PM but I try to lead with compassion and love," Grant explained.
"I think the main thing is love. As many times as I've messed up in my life, God has always been there for me."
Grant said while he wanted to raise his kids with similar values, he didn't know a lot about the Mormon faith.
"We have to figure out some things in terms of, 'Could you tell me some logistics on how things would work? And how will your family view me?'" Grant said in a confessional on The Bachelor.
"But what I know so far is that the feelings are there. And when the feelings are there, that's the main thing and you can work on anything."
Grant got teary-eyed during his conversation with Litia and opened up about how he wants to be a part of his wife's family because he had grown up feeling so lonely and alone. Grant recalled eating alone in his room as a kid, which broke Litia's heart.

"When I was alone, I would talk to God. I wouldn't really talk to anyone else," Grant revealed to the bachelorette.

In a preview of the next The Bachelor episode airing on Monday, March 3, Litia is shown walking Grant into what appears to be a giant outdoor celebration of her family and friends.
"I'm not Mormon. I have tattoos and I wear earrings. I do drink sometimes, you know? So will they accept me?" Grant questions.
The other Final 4 women who received hometown dates were Dina Lupancu, Juliana Pasquarosa, and Zoe McGrady.
